Re: Corvair engine
The plane in question is a Zenair Zodiak. It is one of the recommended powerplants for this plane on the website.

Corvair engine
Does anyone know, or know anything about Corvair engines for ultralights? I'm looking at buying an ultralight powered by a 100hp Corvair engine. Are there agents for them in SA?

Time-ex or not ?
I have a 1999 Windlass with a 503 of some 650 hrs vintage. It is at Solowings right now for an anual. Will CAA grant me an ATF or must I fork out R25K+ to overhaul the engine to enable me to fly 30-40hrs a year?
If the answer to my question is yes, then..... any offers for the "old lady" ?

Re: Scratching where it doesn't itch
I don't want more speed as such. That is why we fly trikes. I did my test flight at la Mercy about 5 years ago. We took off at about 12:30. There was a bit of a wind. We flew in Daves Aerotrike ZU-CMA, fitted with an Aeros wing. It did not flinch (thermals etc) OK it was middle May, but I would not ...

Scratching where it doesn't itch
I've got a 1999 windlass with an Aquilla I, 14m2 wing (it doesn't always itch).
The scratching question is: Are there any modifications (not moodleyfications) that can be done to the wing to make it perform/handle better? Almost like a "New and improved formula".

Re: Scratch built Super Cub
This is the best picture of the finnished project that I could find on the CD supplied. It is the military version that was built (note the extra observation area behind the skylight) according to Jane's "Vintage Aircraft Recognition guide" it was called a L-4/L-18 Grasshopper.

Scratch built Super Cub
I started this project last year in August. It took me 3 years to decide what to build. I was going to build a Petenpol, but decided on a "LM5X-W" from Miniature light aircraft Co. in the US. The plans are full scale and come with a CD and 250 page instruction book. I am using saligna as the main co...
