Re: Swartkop Fly-inn 2nd October 2010

Thanks guys. I'll see if I can bum a lift off someone. I'm hangaring at Microland, but anyone anywhere with an open seat would be appreciated. I'll even split fuel costs & landing fees!

Re: Swartkop Fly-inn 2nd October 2010

It pains me to be writing this, but alas I will not be able to fly in as planned :( I'm looking at my SAAF clearance and can't feel anything less than disappointment. As much as I wanted to be part of this historic fly in, I am not ready. I only got my license 2 weeks ago, and I still need to do a c...

Re: New Logo for the website

Well, it goes towards what you want to achieve on the site in the end. If you only want existing microlight & LSA pilots to be on the forums, then use terms we all are accustomed to in the name or logo, but if you want to grow the forums by attracting joe public to develop an interest in microlights...

Re: New Logo for the website

As they say in Mythbusters, "The devil's in the details"
If the logo is too detailed & "busy", the embroidery won't come out well.
I like muhammedc's last one with the prop. It looks good, and would embroid well.

Lemme see what else I can conjur up (**)

South African Microlight Championships 2010

Heard via the grapevine, and saw on MISASA website: here ---> http://www.misasa.co.za/?p=1811 , as well as forum topics here ---> http://www.microlighters.co.za/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=13760 and here ---> http://www.microlighters.co.za/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=13750 I thought I'd create a topic dedicated t...

Re: New Logo for the website

Ok, played around a bit & here's my contribution.
I tried to keep it close to the original logo as I really liked it.
Let me know what you guys think. The large version is available if approved.

Re: Well done aviators!

Same here. Still a student, and had no problems getting FAC codes. The guys at the SAAF call center were really helpful, and the SAP on the ground at the airfield were great to chat with when not flying. Pity some of the FAC codes I never used cause of the weather! (**)

Re: MISASA Membership?

Ok, I've done the whole registration thing on Webonline, and done the purchase & checkout thing. I didn't use the account indicated on the Email received from Webonline for payments to MISASA, I used the account indicated on the Aero Club form. I have paid that account, and will fax the form and pro...

Come to think of it, going to the Aero Club at Rand seems like the best option.

Re: MISASA Membership?

All of that does not explain how a NEW member is supposed to apply. I have no membership number, as I am not yet a member, so how do I get a membership number, and how do I know that you know who I am, and that I have paid? (**) (**) I am not concerned about the magazine at the moment, but I do need...

Re: MISASA Membership?

I must say, I'm VERY confused about this membership stuff. (**) I'm a student pilot, and would like to become a member of MISASA and I believe I will also need to become a member of the Aero Club, as I need my ATF done on my plane ASAP. So I read these forum posts & also downloaded the application f...
