FYI guys Landing at battlefields is entirely at pilots discretion and own risk. Frequency 124.8. RWY 11/29. +-850m usable Rwy 11 is uphill and preferred - be careful of windsheer as you drop into the "wind shadow" of the rise in the rwy - you can easily lose 10-15kts airspeed in a second or so when ...

Your rough running at altitude might be due to rich running - what do your EGT guages say while this is experienced? - if temps are dropping significantly it's too rich should be 680-720 deg. I had similar experience in the J430 at full taps in cruise at 9500, goes away as soon as you ease off a bit...

Guys, for Mrs and kids, take note of the Gamedrive option and the Vulture "restaurant" - apparently an incredible experience.

Spoke to Mike Blyth yesterday, he confirms planned eta of 0800 local time Saturday.

We have confirmation of aircraft flying in from Paulpietersburg, Ladysmith, Newcastle, Liteflight, Pietermaritzburg and further afield. Please call/mail Morne to confirm attendance.

RWY conditions are perfect. A total of 50mm rain has fallen, but RWY is sand over sandstone, sloped and cambered so no drainage probs. The loop at bottom of 11 can get wet, but only after a week of heavy rain. I will drive the rwy tomorrow morning and report if any reason for concern, failing which,...
