Re: The craziest thing
Well, I'm at about Kirstenbosch and nothing came over, so I better go check in Newlands to see where they put down.

Re: Camera mounting position.
Has anyone got a Gorrial Pod, I've seen they can be pretty versatile to mount in odd configurations, don't know if they are stiff enough to hold up to trike speeds though.

Re: Onboard fire
Hey, Chris. I'm no expert, far from it on this subject. I've seen similar units placed in radio control jets inside the fuselage to go off if a hot start or such occurs so that it doesn't melt all the electronics and equipment before you can get the bird down. My question to you, and I'm sure you pu...

Yo,
That vid that bobthebuilder posted was CGI, but here is the real thing, although in radio control form.

Re: Abbreviations
The Pilot's Radio Handbook by Dietland Lempp has a list of abbreviations relating to radio, airspace and navigation if that's what you're after?

Re: OTT - Paintballing
Hey, RV4ker I'm no pro, but I've been looking at getting into it as quite a few of my friends go out each weekend. You'll obviously need a marker (the gun), a mask (to prevent you loosing an eye), canister of about 20oz. and pellets. That would be the minimum you could get away with. From there on y...

Re: Solo at last! - ALL DONE, FINISHED LICENSE!
All done! Last week I went to the post office to collect my little orange book. Now endorsed with a NPL on CCM for the Hawk Arrow. Very chuffed with myself, can't wait to get back up in the air and eventually take my first passenger up (non-instructor). Happy flying and training to all, remember, yo...

Re: Streak Shadow ZU – BHD, - new member – Based at Rhino
Hey guys, glad I saw this thread.
I've just recently finished my NPL on the Hawk Arrow, but my father owns a Streak Shadow which I'll eventually get a conversion onto.
Good to see that there are a few flying around the country.
Safe flying all, chat soon.

Re: Solo at last!
Hahahaha!!!
I was up until 4 a.m. yesterday morning celebrating
with some buddies, so my body clock is still slightly out of whack!
The joys of being in your twenties.
I shall keep you posted as I start to do the solo air work! Thanks, John.

Solo at last!
Hey guys, just thought I'd share my story with you. I have been training on-and-off since December 2008 and got to around 7.5 hours and was told I was ready for solo (been flying with my dad since I was a pikkie, so have some previous experience), but it all came at quite a rush, so I had to write t...
