Re: Free to air satellite channel info
Thanks Kingfisher
But I actually wanted someone to confirm that SABC is free to air. From Lyngsat or elsewhere I have not seen SABC being FTA.
And nope the 7m is for X-band we've got a few at 13m diameter for the 'lower frequency'...

Re: Free to air satellite channel info
Mine's bigger, recently put up a 7m+ diameter, although I didn't have to pay for it, work did.
Hooked up my FTA receiver which I brought from the UK to the DSTV dish bolted to my new house. Only got BTV and France24 of interest. Where is SABC broadcast FTA??

Moreson is in the market, only 39M. Anyone keen on a partnership? Always wanted my own wine farm and the airstrip sold it to me...
P.
That partnership will have to be 0.1 me to 99.9% partner.

Re: Transponder AERIAL
Hello again Mounted the antenna on a plate and trimmed it down to the right length for a transponder. Mounting position should be on the bottom of the aircraft. Shielding should not be a problem. (I still find it funny that people are quick to worry about 'microwaves' but happy to have their heads g...

Re: Transponder AERIAL
Hello again Put this together today. Will bolt to a metal plate tomorrow and tune. Electrically it will be 100% mechanically it will bend when bumped, but could be straightened again and would still work. Have used similar construction techniques for a harsher environment in the past. Thinking of a ...

Re: Transponder AERIAL
The antenna in the photo will work. Your metal aircraft will provide the groundplane for the antenna to work against. You could make it yourself, but the trick is to get that little whip supported properly against the vibration and airflow. In the photo it looks like the white dielectric is providin...

The oldest VW powered BB still flying is ex Louis Chanu`s BB, CNL. I designed his baffling system as wwell. This engine had other faults, but it definately never overheated. It was used for some serious adventure flying. Here are some pics.... Hallo Oom Boet In the photo of the VW engine the coolin...

Stugeron for sea sickness, make sure you have it in your stomach long enough before the time, otherwise it comes out with the rest. Not for the pilot though as it could make you drowsy. (Disclaimer: I am not a pharmacist of a doctor). Sea sick I do well. Was down for almost a week in a 22 day ocean c...
