Re: TBO on Rotax 4 stokes??
Gotta love the Aerovees. 600-1400 TBO depending on condition. Comes in at around R5k for the overhaul. Parts take up the major portion of that cost because the work is done by yourself as the builder/owner of the engine.

She's a beaut Larry!
Are the NACA slots on the cowl for cooling (oil cooler) and do you have them ramped and ducted?
Any gen on performance yet?

That's strange. He usually gets back to me the same day with expected lag for time zone if I email him in the morning from SA.

Re: Waiex Project
Fine looking piece of kit, Larry. Well done and congrats! I've been scratching about in the regs and see the proving flights have to be conducted within 100km of the home airfield but no mention of whether out landings are allowed while under the proving regimen. Anyone with more info? Might like to...

Re: Ramp Inspection List
Checklist? Some of the experimental/homebuilt/micros are so basic a checklist is superfluous. Interesting exercise on a trike feeding one through the shredder at the back every time you perform an evolution.
I'd think the basic procedures in the POH should be sufficient.

Re: AVGAS/UNLEADED?
Are there any problems with detonation on the engines? I'm planning on using a 1:8 compression ratio and a mix of avgas/unleaded 95 in about a 1:6 ratio on an Aerovee.

Carletonville and Witbank Skydiving clubs also serve breakfast on Sunday mornings if you drop by. You'll just have to take your chances in line with unwashed babbelas skydivers. ![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

Re: Fun events for a Fly In?
Mark a 20m target with concentric rings and a 1m bull in the middle. Fly overhead at a minimum altitude of 1000' AGL and drop a streamer (length of crepe paper weighted with a welding rod used for wind drift calcs by skydivers). Use three streamers and a cumulative scoring system to make it interest...

Re: Waiex Project
Thanks for the gen. So it'll stick the plexi to the metal canopy bow without problems? Being chicken, I may add a rivet low down near the coaming on each side to prevent any surprises should it say "Howzit!" in flight.

Re: Waiex Project
Checked out the Sikaflex website and see they have a variety of products. Which one did you use? Also, can it be used on the canopy bows too and are there any rivets/screws/bolts necessary in the construction?
Only got one canopy so only one shot at this.![Shocked ](./images/smilies/icon_eek.gif)
