Re: SNAP VENTS.

I have two sets of vents for my project. The 3.5" rimmed vent and the 2" blister type. Not sure which I want to use yet. Going with the 2" blister type so far as I'll be flying solo pretty much all the time and don't need that much airflow once in flight. Canopy locked open while taxiing for a bit o...

Re: SAR Search & Rescue - Flares & Smoke

Chuck an old CD/DVD in your bag or a side pocket. They can be used as a heliograph/signaling mirror or as a blade if broken in half. 10m of para cord packs up small and is relatively light but very strong. Always find a use for it.

Re: OF&H Sonex Project

Got the word on the Aerovee but had already ordered mine along with a bunch of other stuff. How did this happen? One doesn't recall starting a thread. Forget my trousers next..... Pattern blanks for gussets cut and transferred gusset tracing to blanks. Need to cut the shapes and deburr the...

Re: Electronic Instruments????

Steam instruments for my project. Prefer not to have all my eggs in one basket and could more than likely still get by until I can land safely if I lost one or two. Just looks better as well. I like the classic look rather than the all singing, all dancing gimmickry. The electronic wizardry just see...

Re: Lightspeed QFR headset - any comms boffins?

Could be non matching impedance. For some reason I find DC headsets compatible with everything from vintage Brit and Yanqui clunkers to modern high speed chest wigs.

Also good quality and great for open cockpit stuff with a cloth or fibreglass helmet.

de Necker Propellors/Aerovee

To expand on a question asked on the Jabi propellor thread, what are the opinions and experiences using de Necker props? Any information using any engine is sought, but particularly interested in the de Necker/Aerovee combination.

Re: Ramp Inspection List

SACAA have records of your ATF and registration. They don't have records of your up to date logbook. No way to check the logbook if destroyed by fire but checking ATF and reg no problem.
