Re: Garmin aviation GPS VS Hiking gps VS gps Android app

Air Nav Pro I use on an iPad and some friends use on Android. Initial cost but so far I have seen no annual license fee. Most of us are very happy with it. I like the fact that I can add airfields to it myself.

Re: Flight suits

I did try the heating clothing, in one of the Trike magazines an Aussie instructor recommended a UK based supplier EXO who have a CTN based supplier stormrider.co.za. The heated innersoles worked very well and with portable LI-ion battery were easy to connect. Good flight suit, warm feet and neopren...

Re: Blue Top ??? Grey Top

I am not a Rotax expert but from my reading its more an evolution of the 582 engine. The first 582s were the Grey tops and the new ones which are still available are the Blue tops. The principle difference seems to be a more sophisticated two circuit water cooling system in the Blue top which was pr...

Re: Buying 2nd Hand Trike

Could not agree with Nicow more. Trikes that appear as great bargains normally have something to hide and repairs can make a cheap trike expensive by the time you get the ATF. I bought my first trike last year and my instructor taught me so much about what to look out for, I basically bought the tri...

Re: Microland to Barberton Fly-away 2015

Can this Alzu airstrip be used anytime or does special permission need to be granted beforehand? The idea of a place where one can grab fuel and breakfast on the way to Nelspruit area has huge appeal.

Re: Microlight training

I did my training last year in a set of Black Diamond Glissade gloves last year and they worked pretty well as they were a good combination of retaining heat and you still have enough feel to control the bar. Now flying my own trike I have a set of Cressi-sub neoprene mitts that are attached to the ...

Re: Flying faster

I am actually impressed with the 62 mph, struggling to get my Raptor past 50 mph in normal trim. I presume the actuator/electric trim system is responsible for most of the speed gain by moving the hang block forward and therefore getting more speed without physically having to pull the bar in? Can y...
