Re: Back in the air again
Progress report, I flew down to see her on thursday & checked her out. She is neat, paint job not fantastic & trim is taped on, just some carnu polish will make her look 100 times prettier. The wingtips are lousy & the lights sre illegal on the tips & she does not have a strobe or rotating beacon, e...

Re: Back in the air again
You are so right boet, I had the priveledge of owning my 235 outright for 7 years, what a great feeling of familiarity. The twinco is shared & the sense of self satisfaction is lost & every time you fly, you notice changes in seat position, seatbelts, instruments etc, not the same.

Re: Back in the air again
Thanks guys, its a very special feeling to know it is soon that I am going to be flying my outright owned little aerie, a huge drop from the luxury I enjoyed with my 235, but feeling comfortable that I can once again afford to fly even though my circumstances are reduced. There is no nicer feeling t...

Back in the air again
At last things are turning around. I have been scouring ads for a microlight for a year now & have missed a few bargains & seen some dodgy aeries during this time. The twinco is too expensive to run for having fun over weekends. It is better suited to x c's. I started flying in the 80's on a Beaver,...

Re: Radial Explorer Project - Da Animal
Yup, but Mrs Boet will moer him if she sees one swooning maiden. Mind you he is an ugly bugger, he needs such a work of art to pull the chicks.

Re: Radial Explorer Project - Da Animal
Hi George
Logistics wise, what are your plans to fetch her, you having to fly her back takes one pilot out of the equation already. We can go down in the twinco, watcha think, but then we must fill the aerie with pax & make it a couple of days jollie.

Congrats Boet & George, she is stunning. The collector ring looks beautiful & the Animal decal looks great too. G, keep in touch, I want to see her take to the air.

We bought it as an unused engine from Raymond Fowkes at Petit. He had already owned it for some time when we bought it.

Re: Radial Explorer Project - Da Animal
Lovely stuff, Boet. You mentioned some surface rust on the valve stems to me a while back, did you clean them up & did you have any sticky valve problems? It is simply wonderful to know that da animal is finished, I cannot wait for it to come up to jhb so I can ogle it 1st hand. I'm sure we will be ...
