It could be the gyroscopic effect of the propeller? The instructors should know this one. The direction of turn of the propeller will determine to which side the aircraft will turn more difficult. Increase in power will aggravate the problem. I hope this helps.

Hi RV4ker The engine is a gray import 2l Toyota turbo diesel that cost me under 4K. Reduction is standard pulleys from Bearing man or any bearing company that has been re-machined to accommodate the center hub and bearings. A Gates or HTD 14mm x 55mm wide belt is used. This can handle approx. 130kw....

What do they want to know?

Approx. 75 Hp from the motor.
Reduction: 1.7:1 14mm pitch gates belt drive
Propeller 72 x 48 fixed pitch
Peak RPM 3200 after release
Climb rate 700 f/m at the coast.
50L use-able fuel will give you about 5 hrs of flight ( tank 60 l )

Fuel consumption is 9l / hour confirmed over the last 60 hrs of flight.

Good to now somebody else isnt scared to try. We used a book on propmaking to work out the dimentions and profiles of the prop. If you can let me have your address I can post you a copy.

Hi Justin

Reduction ratio 1.68 to 1. Rpm on prop is about 1800 rpm at 3200 rpm on engine.

Hi Guys Lots of questions. Lets try. Weight wise the 2c weighs approx. 120 kg. depends on what you remove. We had to make our own engine mountings.
