Re: Africa Cup 2017

Can someone tell me or direct me to where information is available about frequency/special joining procedures for Numbi. Will there be traffic control or any such thing?
I am planning on flying down on Friday morning although WX doesn't look great.

Thanks Frank

Re: THE MICROLAND THREAD..."Home of the Tailwinds"

Thanks to all who attended microland Braai on Saturday. As usual an opportunity to talk Kak with good people. My trike is almost ready to fly again. Just waiting for Andre to finish AP paperwork. See photos of new colour scheme. Can't wait to fly it again. Andre tells me it will feel quite different...

Code: Select all

Hi Blue Max. I have a problem in that I am renewing the ATF for my trike and the AP has told me that the sail is finished. Replacement sail is 30K. I am trying to organize to get it done before Margate but I am not sure it is going to happen. Will be in contact if I can make it.

Re: South Coast Fying 2016 - Annual Margate trip

Would you guys be amenable to someone from microland joining you for this trip. I am keen and perhaps we can persuade some other microlanders as well. I would be planning to fly down but would have ground support with trailer. Haven't done a long distance cross country since Botswana last year. Chee...

Re: BOTSWANA fly-away 25 April to 10 May 2015

Just a few words on the Flyaway. Great trip and great company. Lots of new experiences. We were very lucky in going through borders. On the way through the pioneers had struggled through in 3 hours but when we got there it was a breeze maybe half an hour in total ours. By then the immigration and cu...

Re: BOTSWANA fly-away 25 April to 10 May 2015

Thanks very much for all your efforts Paul. This makes the whole thing a bit more real. For those who are shocked by the cost of trip bear in mind that if you book an apartment on the natal north coast in December you will pay a minimum of R1000 and more likely R1500 to R2000 per night and so a two ...

Re: THE MICROLAND THREAD..."Home of the Tailwinds"

Only caught up with forum today. Very sorry to hear about assault and robbery of Johannes equally glad to hear they were caught and that he got some of his possessions back. This sort of thing really makes one's blood boil. The b***tards are targeting those who have little and whatever they can get ...

Re: In-line OIL filter - service interval

To add a question to this thread. Where can I get the filter for the autolube oil? I am in the process of changing the fuel and oil pipes and want to change the autolube oil filter as well.

Re: MICROLAND TO PYRAMID (BARBERTON) FLY AWAY -8 to 10th Aug

Ok now that flyaway to Barbeton has been cancelled. We (Sharon and I) are driving down anyway to have a weekend away as we have paid for accommadation already. I think Paul Meanwell is also going to drive down. We have two spare beds available in our Chalet. Anyone keen to use them give me a call (0...

Re: BOTSWANA fly-away 23 to 31 May 2015

Hi Paul,
Sounds like a great trip. Is the plan to fly or trailer trikes in? Maun is a long way to fly at 75km/h! I will start to make plans so I can go.

Re: MICROLAND TO PYRAMID (BARBERTON) FLY AWAY -8 to 10th Aug

Is there any update on this trip. I have booked in with Sharon at pyramid for Friday and Saturday night. Is there a pre-trip briefing to arrange departure times agree on final route etc? Paul Mulder indicated Wednesday evening was possibility for planning. If so what time? Current WX doesn't look gr...

Re: THE MICROLAND THREAD..."Home of the Tailwinds"

We are also booked in at Pyramid. We have had to take a 4 bed chalet as it was the only one left. Anyone else still looking for accommodation can use up the extra beds. Is there a plan to have a pre-trip briefing/meeting to agree route and re-fuel stops etc?

Re: THE MICROLAND THREAD..."Home of the Tailwinds"

Hi All, Good weekend fly away. Sorry to those who missed out. Unfortunately there are no mid-air photos as our official photographer couldn't make it due to sickness. It was very cold Saturday morning and I was trying out my new bar mitts (arrived Friday) , which certainly helped but even so by the ...

Re: THE MICROLAND THREAD..."Home of the Tailwinds"

I don't have strong views about route but I normally fly just east of buffer zone and then turn South west after crossing N17 then fly North of Heidelburg across Suikerbosrand. Lets fly Alan's route. A little bit further but with a few more outlanding options in case of engine out. We can stop at Sp...
