Re: Challanger II, long wing undercarriage cables.
Help Needed, Had a bit of a hard landing and both undercarriage cables broke. On inspection it appears that these are Stainless Steel, which to my knowledge is incorrect. After landing taxied quite a distance to clear the runway and only noticed the cable problem when I climbed out. So gear is all s...

Re: Challanger II, 503 DCDI propeller (Sorted)
Thanks Guys,
I have found a prop for my Challie. Lance Mcintosch in Cape Town had just what I was looking for. Thanks Lance.
Hopefully it arrives on Monday/Tuesday, and I will be up and flying next weekend.

Re: Challanger II, 503 DCDI propeller
Hi Falcon and Jean, Thank you for your responses, I will be doing that, have sent some pictures via another aviator whom will be popping in to see Piet. I may also be limiting my search, by stipulating Challenger II. The prop is a 60 x 42 wood, but can be of another compound, will need to check the ...

Challanger II, 503 DCDI propeller
Good day All, I have just had my wooden prop overhauled by P Prop a at a fair cost. It looked fantastic and operated beautifully. Yesterday while flying I had a strike of some sort and has destroyed the tip of one blade. Now cannot fly anymore. My flying colleges believe that it was a stone kicked u...

Re: 503 Starter
Hi German,
after trying 100 different things I have sorted out the problem, it appears that the battery was the culprit all the time. I installed a lead acid 20AH and all is now working as it should.

Re: M4 Starter Motor
Thanks Falconp1,
I have finally come right with the starter. The ,8kw is sufficient to swing the motor, I replaced the starter solenoid and also replaced the battery with a 20AH, lead acid.
All working ok. Seems the battery was the problem all the time.

M4 Starter Motor
HI I have a challenger 2 long wing with a Rotax 503. My starter motor is presenting a problem. It appears that it is a M4 design, but I guess that it is a copy of the one supplied by UK based company, due to it looking a bit different. The motor fitted is a 12VDC rated at 0,8kw. To me it appears tha...

Re: PR 20 Intercom
Hi Gerrit. Tromp84 Thank you for your reply. The problem I experience is when in the intercom position, and the Pilot makes a radio transmission, the transmission is very soft and unclear. However if the co pilot makes the transmission, that call is clear. If the intercom is switched to pilot only a...

503 Starter
Good Day, I am in need of a starter as per the Rotax part number 293153. It is the one which does not have a Bendix, just a splined shaft. Mine is working to a degree but seems to be drawing exceptional current and wont turn the engine properly. It is almost as though the battery is flat. New batter...

Re: Gates Belt drives.
Thanks for the info Quickcut. I am happy with the specs so am going to proceed and purchase the GT3. To Falconp1 I will post pictures of my challenger once it is ready and up at the airfield. It is work in progress at the moment. Nose wheel repairs, some fabric repairs on the belly, motor needs to b...
