Just a warning to those using iPad's with external gps. Don't upgrade to IOS 8.3, there is a bug that causes the ipad not to communicate with the external GPS. I use a Garmin GLO with iPad mini and Airnav pro. I updated my iPad yesterday to 8.3 and Airnav pro stopped working. Then read about the iss...

My iPad mini does not have a GPS so I can only use the Garmin GLO. Never had any issues with accuracy or reliability

Hi Jaco, under "Settings" on the iPad you need to enable "Share GPS via bluetooth"

Two things I remenber from 2 diffrent instructors were

When you start flying do it like the birds - you fly to the next tree at first and then a further tree, not jump in and fly to (some far away place) - great advise!

Hi TJS, sorry for the late reply. Hope you are sorted. Quick answer is no you don't need any software. Just enable bluetooth on your ipad and it will connect to the Garmin GLO gps.

We were a few planes from Panorama that wanted to fly-in. They guys who took-off early all got to Springs and then had to turn back due to fog. We waited till 10 and then managed to fly-in. Was a great event, thanks to everyone who made it possible . We had a great flight and event.
