Re: MISASA Fees 2012
I have paid my second year membership on both MISASA and Aeroclub, also member of SAAMA. I have climbed to 120 hours in my first year and with the second year membership active I am yet to receive a membership card. I see no value in both these memberships and view it only as a hurdle to cross in or...

Re: Rand Airport fly-in from Springs - 5 November 2011
No problem flying in directly. Approach from Romeo Delta (can't teach you guys that, I am the rookie). I have arranged with the tower.
No need to join overhead first, tower will advise circuit and active runway, we will join the circuit directly.

Yes of course, I have had breakfast at Rhino myself. Please just confirm approximate numbers as I have to give the info to the Air Marshall. All other arrangements are in place, they are looking forward to seeing us.

Re: 582 Blue Top Main Jet Size ???
Guys, just a little feedback if you are interested. I have fitted the 165 main jets (the AP did), new needles etc. Needle position 2. I flew the aerie for an hour this morning (solo) burnt about 7 litres. I don't think this is bad. The motor is idling smoothly, very responsive and excellent on high ...

Re: Almost There ! ! !
Thanks to all :!: I know I have a "licence to kill" therefore I will never be arrogant. Safety is first priority. I'll keep it close for the first 10 with my own aerie before taking pax. My wife just has to be a bit more patient, but she is understanding. Damn, I just realised again what a lucky man...

Re: 582 Blue Top Main Jet Size ???
Stephan, Thanks for the input, I don't believe it is a crime wanting to get a second opinion though, the AP is aware of this. I am not and have not acted unethically, my safety is not your responsibility, also we as users always end up paying for other's mistakes should they make mistakes, and it ca...

Re: 582 Blue Top Main Jet Size ???
Duck, thanks a lot ! I will get the AP to sign it out on 165's and then ask another AP to sign back the 158's. The AP working on the aerie have already had a "talk" with the Rotax agents saying they do not know what they are talking about. I am tending towards the 158's at altitude and 165's at sea ...

Re: 582 Blue Top Main Jet Size ???
Thanks guys, I will not want to start a war here
Fit the 165's, get it signed out and then put the 158's back?
Is this ethical, both uses the same needle.
