Looking for some info on the VW 2.1L engines used in many of the Cubbies (and some other planes I see ....).
What are the pro's and con's? Is it reliable, TBO hours, maintenance?

Thanks for all the input. Will check the sensor this weekend. Eliminating one thing at a time . I can't wait to get the problem fixed and to be back in the air.

Had the Radiator checked at Silverton Radiators ...................... perfect water-flow, no blockages -

I have now checked everything but for the waterpump.

What are the chances of engine trouble on a 582 with 60 hours on the clock?

I have removed the radiator this afternoon and will take it to Silverton Radiators tomorrow.

Just bought a 582 which stood for 6+ months. What would be the best way of "prepping" the engine as to avoid any possible damage :?: Someone advised removing sparkplugs and spraying Q20 into chambers then turning prop several times prior to startup.
