Re: ch-750 plans built project

To those who have been following my build, I will regretfully have to put the project on backburner as I make way in the workshop for a partially completed Zenith ch-801 kit that I will be completing. I am very excited about taking on the 801 build, as it is the bigger brother from the ch-750 I was ...

Re: Conrads CH 750 Project

Your progress is looking good! My chances of keeping up with your project are starting to look slim :) Are the photoguides you are following from the Zenith builders page, or did you get them with the kit? Maybe I'm missing something, but there seems to be a huge amount of important info missing fro...

Re: ch-750 plans built project

lol, at least I;m not the only one then. I am also finding out that if the assembly seems to be going together easily, ...... it's invariably the wrong way around :)

Re: ch-750 plans built project

The horizontal stab and elevator took a while to decipher from the drawings. I had to refer to the ch-701 assembly guide to make sense of them. The h/stab showed me that the skeleton has to be absolutely square before skinning, with the nose ribs all protruding the same distance from the spar. On my...

Re: ch-750 plans built project

Hello James, much appreciated, they are the same people I used for the sheet. I was impressed by the trouble they went to in order to make sure the sheet reached me in the same condition. you dont want to start skinning areas with "pre-dinged" sheet :) I will give them a call.

Re: ch-750 plans built project

Hi Keith, sorry I seem to end up with my PM replies sitting in my outbox, but I cant see how to send them. In answer to your question, I use Alclad for my 6061-t6. I still need to find a supplier of extruded angle in 6061 -t6 or equivalent. PLEASE if anyone knows of a supplier, let me know. I can im...

Your work looks good, I wish the first one was a kit build for me too. It would have helped to see all the parts first. I look forward to seeing your progress. martin

Re: ch-750 plans built project

Completed the horizontal stabilizer skeleton today. It's a good feeling to see the larger parts come together. The more I build, the more I like the design of the 750. I dont know why I wasn't doing this years ago :)
