Re: Gyro annual/100 hour inspection cost

Jan

I think that's just marketing "bull", the proof is in the actual execution of support, which is clearly provided at a price! You got suckered!

Isn't there a conflict of interest having Braam as a CAA employee representative for gyro's and involved in the Xenon?

Re: PRICING - I just can't get 'with it' any more.

Gents I have to agree with you. I come to SA about twice a year and have noticed huge increases over the past 5 years. Petrol aside, have you noticed, probably not, that a packet of chips cost a little more but the packets are now 125g as oppose to 150g - the packaging is however the same! Muffins f...

Re: RAASA STATEMENT - LOW FLYING

Gents You can regulate the industry as much as possible, you'll still get the maveric who stuffs it up for all and sundry. If someone is reported you'll still end up with conflicting opinions! In order to stop people killing themselves we need to educate the masses and it needs to start soon. There'...

Re: RAASA STATEMENT - LOW FLYING

Gents I would like to make a suggestion to those who give instruction - get your student to do some low level flying, educate them on the potential dangers, CFIT, how to cross power lines, what to look out for in valley's, show them the suspension wires at the top of the pylons (the ones no one sees...

Personally, I thought it went off extremely well. There are certain issues that the committee are aware of but overall it was a fantastic day, well done to the MISASA committee.

Re: Gyro Conversion Application

Len Here's a suggestion, if we can do exams online, why don't we start the initiative to having online applications from the instructors terminal. When someone does a conversion, it gets processed online and sent to RAASA thus eliminating administrative issues and allowing RAASA to run more efficien...

Re: Gyro Conversion Application

Len Although the type ratings have different Y numbers, surely it will be prudent to classify the MT's and Magni 16 & 22 under the same group type rating. In order to do this one just does a differences familiarisation onto the other course - why do you have to fly the same machine again, although i...

Re: Gyro training in SA..........

Len I'm sure you're aware that you'll get some serious resistance from some instructors when you want to impose standardisation, however you'll find that those that need it the most will provide the greatest resistance. It's a system long overdue in recreational training and will be great to see it ...

Saraf I joined this forum to share my experience, provide opinions and make constructive suggestions as to ways of Improving the overall Gyro training system, so please don't tell me it's a poor attitude when I share my experience with you. What you can tell me though is; in what way is a gyro diffe...

Re: Gyro training in SA..........

Hello Saraf "a high time pilot with a PPL with 3000h, normally a human takes 21 day's to get rid of a habit. Do you think 6h or even 10h of convertion time onto a whole new dimention of flying is enough?" To answer your question, Yes I do. A gyro, once that disc is turning, has it's weak points, but...
