Check out airshows.org.uk, apart from the biggies like the Fairford Air Tatttoo, there are a lot of smaller shows with vintage planes, cars, etc.
What time of year are you coming?

Re: The Video Thread...
What a lekker vid, Koos, I really enjoyed it. I think that's what I would have looked like if I had flown at that age. I think I probably looked the same at 40 something.

Re: Dear SWAT PILOTS
I see Peter Kelsey's (FerryAir) name has come up in this saga as well. Be warned, he is a master wind-up merchant who cuts and pastes other people's content and picks fights just for the fun of it. He has been banned repeatedly from the UK forums and this whole things smells a bit like him. If I'm w...

Re: Blind in one eye - PPL?
My instructor, Rob Grimwood, is blind in one eye. He is the current British Microlight champion, the European Champion, the World Champion and has been World Air Games Champion (not sure if he is currently WAG champ). It doesn't seem to have affected his flying capabilities. This is in the UK so I c...

Re: The cost of filling up...
Hi Bundy I'm training at Plaistows in St Albans and it is a narrow corridor smack in between Heathrow, Luton and Stansted airspace (Coordinates: N5143650 W00022690 Elevation: 395ft AMSL), see http://www.exodusairsports.co.uk. This corridor carries most of the GA and microlight traffic from the Midla...

Re: The cost of filling up...
£1.44 per litre (about R17), not much better over here in the UK. Luckily with the rubbish weather we hardly ever get to fly.

Re: Wake turbulence...am I too cautious.
I know there are guidelines based on waiting times for heavy, medium and light aircraft departing ahead of you but a common misconception is that flex's are 'light' in terms of wake turbulence. Because of the high angle of attack and low airspeed they produce a large amount of WT so you need to be c...

Re: *Need a Gutsy Responsible pilot to fly a Pegasus 912 to
Fantastic photos. I am an expat training on my own Quantum in the UK and those views make me want to come back and do some trips in SA. Especially with the weather here at the moment (and it wasn't much better in the summer...) What is the blue patch on the top of the koppie in pic 14? It looks like...
