Re: Pilot fined R12 000 for low-flying

Hi John. I agree wholeheartedly with the killing, raping and plundering of natural resources for pure financial gain in this region, and my personal opinion is that it is unsustainable the way it is being done at the moment. However back to the flying issues...... The iSimangaliso Wetland Park is ma...

Re: Fuel consumption - Trikes

I fly an Aquilla II with a 503 and an NC prop and tend to get 12-15 l/h. Interestingly I used to fly with a Kiev prop and got a slightly better fuel consumption for some reason.

Re: Her Gearbox gets hot

Sorry kalahari....... I use Caltex final drive oil. I can touch the box , but only briefly. ill check next time I fly if there is any side play on the shaft. I think ill drain the oil anyway and see if there is anything in the oil and replace with new oil.

I know they are meant to get hot but I cant touch it for long beacuse its so hot!!
Is this a problem or is it normal? How hot should it get?

Re: Rotax Rev Counter Problems

The confusing thing is that it is regestering rpm but just not fully. Shurely if it was a loose wire or an eatrhing problem it wouldnt work at all, or at best intermittently?

Rotax Rev Counter Problems

It would move from 0-max1500rpm. I have checked the wiring as best as possible without stripping anything down- f...
