Re: Jab Engines - the good and the bad?
There has been a spate of engine failures on Jab trainers at Rhino Park near Pretoria - attributed to high CHT and EGTs, causing failed valves. This was not one or 2, but rather a cluster of Jabs coming out of the sky in a short period as a result of the fan stopping, all in a couple of months, duri...

Re: Hanger Space East of PTA
Hi All, My flying buddy and I are looking for hanger space on the eastern side of Pta. Aeropark, close to Kittyhawk and Rhino allegedly have new hangars available - I think but don't quote me - about R 1,700 per month. I suspect you could get 2 or 3 trikes in one. Also home of Accolade Flight schoo...

I can understand that maybe about 40 % of members would prefer to just sit back and read, but 80%? This is well within spec of on-line forums, I started a couple myse...

Re: Microflight-Aviation Academy
Do you mean you ferry fairies - perhaps hairdressers or 'coffee moffies' OR, that you have fairies, as in the usual, all too common, everyday, bottom of the garden/ top of the Christmas tree variety, operating from Rhino?emil wrote:we also do fairy flights...

Re: Life Insurance Cost
my thinking is that it is far more dangerous on the road than in a aircraft. To prove me right or wrong I need some stats. The amount of microlight aircraft registered (trikes) in SA and amount of fatal accidents per year and compair that to amount of motorcycles registered in SA agains fatal accid...

I firmly believe in polariods for all applications. Id second that, big time. Also suggest one goes for the brown lenses, not the green ones, blue, black or seriously bling - silver. The light brown lenses give better colour balance and also improve contrast, quite drastically. You'll want to wear ...

Great post, but you don't do the decent thing and tell us where you are in clear! The only geographic hint in the post was 'La Mercy Flight Park', and being 'at the coast' which candidly means squat to me. Perhaps you're presuming readers of the post know stuff that some of us may not necessarily kn...

To resurrect this old chestnut and the controversy surrounding it. I see stats for the Jab Vs Rotax engines on the Sky Ranger - pretty close to the Cheetah. http://www.electrodynamics.biz/skyranger/performance.jpg It souds like a viable choice given the fact that the 2200 Jab sounds better, due to l...
