Re: Kalahari Bundu Bash 2015
Hi there Are there any Trikes planning to fly to this event from the Joburg area, or any other area for that matter. I am planning to trailer my trike from Zim, have some work done on my wing at Jenya, Petit and then fly up to this event. Perhaps we could hook up and plan the route and logistics. Ch...

Re: Microlighters clueless on the radio
Hi Fellow Aviators For what it is worth, we have new regulations up here on Radio License for all LSA or Microlight Pilots. You now have to obtain a PPL radio license, where the exam is conducted by CAAZ. If the Pilot does not hold this Radio License you cannot fly in controlled air space. There is ...

Re: CH 701
Hi there Ray The build is coming along well. I stumbled across a web site on Viking Aircraft Engines, have you heard of them? Have just read up briefly on them and they look good and are considerably cheaper than the Rotax equivalent. Check them out and do some research as a possible power plant for...

Flying a SA reg plane on a Foreign License
Can anyone advise me what the legal standing is on flying a South African registered microlight with a Zimbabwe license. I am hoping to attend the Kalahari Bundu Bash and have been offered the use of a plane registered in SA. Can I fly this plane with my valid Zim license. I have this type endorsed ...

Re: Help please! 582 not getting revs
Justin I read the post  . You cannot assume that if you try a propeller off one Trike onto another that the pitch will be the same. This is not true, as the angle of the hub may differ on both planes, thus altering the pitch angle on the Prop, when you swap them over. The ONLY thing that will ...

Re: Help please! 582 not getting revs
Hi Ant Assuming that your fuel and air are within the parameters then I believe Bulletjie is correct, check out your Propeller. It is the only other thing that will effect the RPM. Sounds like it is over loading and causing a reduction in the RPM. Just my 2c worth. Let us know what the cause was onc...

Re: microlight operational costs
Hi Bundy
An additional cost I think that should be factored in, is the costs of you getting to the Airfield. Fuel for the Charriot, to get you there.

Re: Flying a GPS Approach in a Trike!
John Wow, not to sure that was the reaction you were expecting, caused a bit of a stir. If there is anyone on this forum that is weather conscious and promotes save flying, it is definitely you. This being evident with the weekly Windguru Weather Forecast that you post on forum. This has prompted me...

Re: Aquila Aero Prop pitch
Question: I assume my trike must be 100% level standing on the floor before doing any sort of pitching as stated above? You need to make sure your Propeller hub is 100 % level, if not, you should measure the angle of the engine at the Prop hub, you then add the angle of the prop hub to the desired p...
