Re: MOGAS & AVGAS ??

I only use mogas, Shell 95 unleaded in my RV6 with a 0-320.

You can feel a difference between Avgas and Mogas but not much. One thing for sure is the fact that Mogas will perculate. If I stop for 15 min or less and start up again and go, the fuel has perculated every single time without fail.

Re: Farewell Henk...

Being part of the Panorame group now for the last 13 years I have come to realise that the group that has assembled over this time is a special one. The loss of any pilot is a shame but one that you see every weekend is even worse. Henk was definately one of the Mr Nice Guys of Panorama. Everyone li...

Re: AP inpections and Misasa membership

Ok, I hear what you are saying. I am going to join RAASA, not out of choice but because we have to. I am glad its only R425 because I really dont see any benifit, but hopefully that changes. As far as transponders and the 300 hour rule is concerned, I dont think any of that is a bad thing. At the en...

Re: AP inpections and Misasa membership

Guys it is R425 per annum (Aeroclub = R215 and MISAS = R205), which equates to R35.42 per month or R1.16 per day so is it really such a problem? So far I have 2 x magazines, 1 x MISASA badge and 1 x MISASA cap as well as the support of MISASA and Aeroclub with any of the CAA legislative cr@p. Stop ...

Re: Exhaust

The exhaust manifold on our 2-strokes almost always joins into a Y on the 2 cylinder models, and this creates a further problem. The pulse will travel down the pipe, but when it returns it will try to go back up both pipes in the Y. At certain RPM ranges it will be causing more harm than good relat...

Re: Exhaust

TNT Exhausts in Germiston (Knights actually) are definately the ones to go and see if you are looking for a four stroke exhaust system on a 912. I know of one they fitted to a CTSW that pushed the power up to around the 120 hp range and it was alot quieter than the standard exhaust. The owner needed...

Re: Did a JK05 conversion this morning

The JK is a great value for money plane. there is one owned at our airfield in a syndicate and all the guys are happy with the aircraft. I have done a few hours in it but not the 'conversion' per say, but I found that both the JK and the Topaz want to get off the ground before they are actually cap...

Re: Banking Scams

I contacted Absa about this, stopped all of my cards including my personal cards. They are still busy with the inv...
