Must admit I have never had a broken exhaust mount in many flying hours. Maybe due to only using well balanced 3 blade props. You can purchase the ruber mountings from rubber products and mouldings, I don't know what they cost. Its a good idea to also fit safety wire to secure the exhaust in case th...

How much do they cost and will it work on the ivo setup. I am looking at under R500-00 per unit.

Ivo in flight adjustable pitch sensor

I am busy developing an sensor that can tell you when your in flight adustable pitch is full fine somewhere in between and full coarse. it also atomaticaly stops at both limits. It works with a current sensor a pic and control fet. It will have a 3 LED display to indicate full fine in the middle som...

Here in an extract from an email from chuck about the correct prop and gearbox ratio's for the 582 hawk fitted with 68" 3 blade warp drive If you use a Warp drive prop then you will need the C gear box because the Warp is much heavier and exceeds the inertia limits for the B box. Frankly I'm not too...

nickjaxe It looks as if you are using a B Box as the ratio 2.58 is a B Box ratio. The 3 blade warp drive should only be used on the c or e box due to the mass moment of inertia of the warp drive being to heavy for the b box.

My 2 cents worth

TFD? When and where?

We have the hawk in our hanger already and we are busy test flying. We are trying to finalise the engine prop gearbox story. At the moment we have a 503 fitted but we are going to change this for a 582.

Will you be opperating from andrews field or Bredasdorp.

The Jab combo should be good. Prop diam might be a issue. I would expect you would get similar performance as the 582. I would guess a better choice than the 912 as this engine is a bit of an overkill for the hawk, a bit heavy and overpowerd. JPage where are you based in cape town? Would love to see...

Thanks for the advice. We have a farm between Hermanus and Stanford where we have a short runway and quite a large flying community of about 8 aircraft in total. We are replacing our trike with the hawk as the trike is no fun in the wind next to the mountain. It seams that most props on microlights ...
