Re: Who flies what from where ?
Glad to hear you active again Johan. Pity the forum is so quiet these days.
Re: ROTORS
Not a power problem, as I've had it in the cruise, at a pretty normal cruise setting of around 5 000 rpm. I'm not too sure what the fix is unfortunately, but know it seemed to occur on the older models. Maybe Eric Torr can provide more info. I think I heard someone say it's to do with the Centre of ...
Re: ROTORS
Yes, in the cruise, I've had the violent forward and aft what felt like rotor flap before. Very scary when it happens. Goes away if you reduce power immediately. My previous VPM M16 we converted to a Rotax 914 did it. Horrible.

Re: Waar is al die ou manne.
I also give Microlighters a look every now and then. Really enjoyed the grass roots aspect of my flying trikes many years ago. Had a trike at Microland some time ago. Got into gyroplanes after that, so I tend to watch the Gyro Talk threads mostly, although it’s very quiet these days, almost dead. Qu...

Re: Do you want to join the Bitcoin revolution?
Now it’s sitting at R117 000 3 months later. I bought some through Luno.com. Who knows where this will end up. Looking good thus far.

Re: Street legal gyro
Interesting. Can't imagine the range using the electric motor would be much, but it's a good idea.

Gyro Fly-in to Cape Town International
Based in the thread about me flying to work at FACT, here's my proposal: I'm off next Saturday 28th Jan if anyone would like to fly into Cape Town International in their gyro. If that date doesn't work for the majority, then we can try another Saturday or Sunday. (Other dates when I'm off are Sun 5t...

Gyro Fly-in to Cape Town International
I've created a new thread with my proposed plans to fly to CPT International for a visit to the tower, and a breakfast: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=26085

Re: Flew to work today!
Hi Greg and others, I need to give this a think, as ACSA airports generally are user unfriendly in terms of general aviation just in terms of getting around. Ideally it would be great to land, park, go have some brekkie, and then visit the tower. ATC love visitors, is just the getting around is a pr...

Re: Flew to work today!
Greg, I've chatted to Rob Russel in the Tower before about it. He says that ACSA, and not ATNS don't like it if the ATC's use the taxiways for take-off/landing. Having said that, he says ACSA have no jurisdiction over the General Aviation section. The previous time I landed there, he cleared me to a...

Flew to work today!
Flew my copilot who I was rostered to fly with today into Cape Town International in the gyro. Parked the gyro in the SAA hangar, and then strolled across to sign on for duty for our flight to Joburg and back in our Airbus 320. Then flew back to Stellenbosch afterwards. Fun day.
