Re: Justin's Raven

Somehow, nothing is ever as easy as you would hope. The AeroVee has an interference fit for the prop hub on the crank. You freeze the crank, and heat the hub to 230C. Then, in theory, you just drop the hub on, and a few taps with a mallet will seat it. My hub went straight on to within 0.016" of th...

Re: Justin's Raven

Finally... Spent the last two weeks building 3 different iterations of the throttle linkages. Each useless in its own little way. Finally got something workable - and it even fits when the fuel tank is in - there really is not much space up front! Anyway, with the last of the metal work out of the ...

Re: TOYOTA YARIS ENGINE

As I understand it, all aftermarket ECU are designed with road going vehicles in mind. On the other hand the E-Boxi has been designed as a dedicated aviation system with muliple redundancy. Daisy chain although expensive for 3 cylinder, will still give the original multiple redundancy. Oupa G made a...

Re: Which Prop?

I have re-read the whole thread twice now and will say the following. To Alanmack Comparing an old beat up prop to a new plastic fantastic is not a fair comparison (Rather like doing a performance test with a 68 Corolla against a 2004 Lotus Elise or whatever) By all means do your fly-off against oth...

Re: TOYOTA YARIS ENGINE

Dear Grostek The 4 cyl is easy with one Eboxi but the 3 cyl you will have to use 3 Eboxi's and daisy chain them. Two cyl is easy and four cyl is just two ,two cyl that are 180 degrees apart. Cheers Oupa-G Hi Oupa G, Thank you for the clear and consice explanation. Will push the costs up somewhat an...

Re: Hey Karamba, explain your statement

I am a member of both forums and each has a section that gives me valuable lessons and insight. For me being on both is not about us against them, ours is bigger than theirs, or we are bigger than them, for me it is for the enjoyment I get out of both. On both forums the Mods will always be unpopula...

Re: TOYOTA YARIS ENGINE

but with the BMW we now have more ups then downs, we have in toto 450 hrs there is no reason why the Yaris etc cannot achieve the same as long as it is kept simple. Cheers Oupa-G Hi Oupa, Just a question, will ,or can, your E-Boxi be adjusted to work for 3 Cylinder fuel injected 4 stroke engines? K...

Re: Hey Karamba, explain your statement

Maybe the attached will show a different side of the coin.

It surprised the hell out of me and just reinforces what so many have been saying all along, BB is King. (^^) (^^)

Now just to get the cruise speed up a tad. vhpy vhpy

Re: Prop Change Nightmare

Ja nee kom ons maak geld..... Soon there will be a new class, just for the "old time" experimenter. A pity as far as Im conserned. In my eyes, a factory kit is just that "a factory aircraft" and there should be a class for that. A homebuild VP with a "backyard" VW aircooled motor should still be "e...

Re: LSA - WHICH ONE?

Hi All, Have just done an excercise such as John suggested, just stuck to basic figures and left impressions out of it. It is in excel format and might surprise a few people. There are blanks for missing info, maybe those who know the answers can fill them in. Kind regards, Gunter Rostek. I see tha...
